Small leak of primary coolant water at NPP Temelin

At about 3.00 a.m. a small leak on unit No.2 was identified by operating personnel. At the time of event unit was in preparation for restart after approx. 3 weeks maintenance outage.

Event: Leak of primary coolant water higher than 1m³ from venting valve on intake water header of the steam generator No.3 was identified during early morning of today. Operating personnel in accordance with procedures carried out necessary measures and ensured full safety of the unit. Start-up procedures were interrupted. Reactor of the unit No. 2 was not in operation at the time of the event, primary circuit was pressurised and heated to prepare for restart. No release of radioactivity out controlled area. No risk to outside environment.

Further information will be published after initial investigation of the event. Status of the NPP: Unit 2 under preparation for restart, Unit 1 operated on full power.
