The State Office for Nuclear Safety (SÚJB) organized the workshop on Diagnostics of Properties of Welded Joint 1-4-5 in NPP Temelín. The workshop was prepared at the request of the German side and took place on 19th October 2015 in Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Czech Technical University (FS ČVUT) in Prague.
The workshop passed at high expert and social standards in attendance of Mr. Tomáš Podivinský the Czech Ambassador in Berlin, prof. Michael Valášek the Dean of FS ČVUT in Prague and Ms. Dana Drábová the Chairperson of SÚJB. Experts of FS ČVUT, SÚJB, Research Centre Řež (ÚJV Řež) and ŠKODA JS a.s. as well authorities of NPP Temelín joined in. The German side which was in charge of Mr. Wolfgang Cloosters the Head of Department of Nuclear Safety, Radiation Protection and Nuclear Fuel Cycle BMUB was represented by representatives of party politics headed by a congresswoman of the federal parliament Ms. Sylvie Kotting-Uhl, NGO (Greenpeace), experts and ministries representatives.
Mr. Petr Krs the Deputy Chairman for Management and Technical Support of SÚJB chaired the workshop. Presentations of Czech experts and respected specialists were concentrated on issues of a primary circuit, inspections of welded joints including evaluation of their integrity. All questions of the German partner were comprehensively answered. In conclusion German participants had a possibility to examine documentation of welded joints in NPP Temelín with focus on the welded joint 1-4-5.
