As a consequence of a leakage of the pipeline of one out of three divisions of essential service water, Units 3 and 4 were, in accordance with the requirements of Limits and Conditions (technical specification), gradually shut down to the mode 5 (cold shutdown). The shutdown was initiated on 5 November 2014 morning and the mode 5 was reached at both units on 6 November 2014.
At present, the leakage is being removed by the replacement of a part of the pipeline.
The cause of the leakage is under investigation and will be subject of routine/standard procedures within the operating experience feedback system.
State Office for Nuclear Safety (SÚJB) is closely monitoring both the repair of the pipeline and the investigation of the event.
