The Joint Eighth and Ninth Review Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Convention on Nuclear Safety (CNS) 2023, led by our Chairperson Dana Drábová, was successfully concluded on 31 March 2023. The evaluation process was not easy. First, it was complicated by the interruption during the COVID-19 pandemic, which extended the standard three-year review cycle to six years. It was then significantly complicated by the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which has a major impact on the nuclear safety of Ukrainian nuclear facilities. The conclusion of the conference with the unanimous adoption of the final summary report is therefore a great success.
