IAEA Director General pays first official visit to the Czech Republic

During his official visit to the Czech Republic from 28 to 29 April 2014, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Yukiya Amano, held a series of meetings with high-level government officials. 

On Monday, 28 April, Y. Amano met with the First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Jiří Havlíček, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Petr Drulák and the Chairperson of the State Office for Nuclear Safety, Dana Drábová to discuss issues of common interest and mutual cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

On Tuesday, 29 April, IAEA Director General visited the Nuclear Power Plant Temelín located in Southern Bohemia to become acquainted with the latest safety improvements implemented in the facility in the light of the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.
