ČEZ, a. s., delivered an application for permit on the siting of “New Nuclear Power Plant” in the site of Dukovany

ČEZ, a. s., respectively its subsidiary, Elektrárna Dukovany II, a.s., delivered the State Office for Nuclear Safety (SÚJB) an application for the siting permit of two nuclear facilities at the Dukovany site (“New Nuclear Source”) on Wednesday 25 March 2020.

The subject of the application is the site permit of two nuclear installations, each with one pressurized water reactor with a net electrical capacity of up to 1200 MWe. This business plan follows in the site of the existing Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant.

In accordance with the provisions of article 19 para. 2 letter a) of Act No. 263/2016 Coll., the Atomic Act, the decision on the permit will be issued within 12 months. For the evaluation of the application and the submitted documentation, internationally referred to as the “licensing process”, a project team is established in SÚJB, which includes both SÚJB specialists and its support technical organization SÚRO, v.v.i.
