28th regular bilateral meeting of the Czech Republic and Austria

Czech delegation attended a regular bilateral meeting organized by the colleagues from Austria in Vienna on 5 and 6 November 2019. Delegations discussed primarily issues related to Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection. The bilateral meeting was organized in the framework of the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Austria to Settle Issues of Common Interest in Connection with Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection.

The meeting was held at the Austria Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs and it was chaired by Mr. Ronald Sturm, who was also the head of the Austrian delegation. The Czech delegation was led by the Deputy Chairman, Head of the Section for Management and Technical Support Mr. Petr Krs. Both delegations comprised also other representatives of other ministries, institutions and others experts.

The delegations informed each other of the latest development in legislation, radiation protection, emergency preparedness and response and in the operation of nuclear facilities. The Austrian delegation informed, among others, about new legislation implementing EUROATOM safety standards. The Czech delegation presented, among others, preparation of Nuclear New Build in the Czech Republic.

The meeting was concluded by the excursion to the Nuclear Engineering Seibersdorf. The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, accompanied by presentations and a lively discussion.
