The emergency mode

The emergency mode of operation of the monitoring network is the monitoring during a radiological emergency in case of the suspicion of a radiological emergency

a) Both the regular and emergency components of the monitoring network participate in the monitoring;

b) The monitoring in emergency mode is mainly concentrated on:

1. confirmation of the arise of a radiological emergency; if the radiological emergency arises in the territory of the Czech Republic, the estimate of the subsequent radiation accident development and the radionuclide migration in the vicinity of the nuclear installation or the category IV workplace at which the radiation accident has occurred shall also be required;
2. identification and the description of the release which has arrived;
3. estimate of personal doses;
4. evaluation of the radiation situation that has arrived and the preparation of the data for making decisions on the countermeasures that reduce or avert the exposure of persons including the specification of the areas where the countermeasures shall be recommended from the point of view of the radiological emergency that has arrived;
5. evaluation of the efficiency of protective countermeasures being implemented; and
6. prognosis of the subsequent radiation situation development;
